This accessory serves as a replacement for the standard spigot that comes with the Berkey system, along with an upgrade: 304 stainless steel and glass water level gauge, allowing you to see at a glance how much water remains in the stainless steel lower chamber.

We received our Berkey in April 2023 with what we had thought was the 10″ spigot because that is what we had ordered. Unfortunately I broke the glass tube while cleaning. I had to order an entire Spigot because the glass sight tube is not offered separately. It was after we had received the 10″ spigot when we realized we got a smaller one with the initial order. We did notice we couldn’t completely fill it because t would leak. Now we know why.
Communication was wonderful, shipping was speedy and I was given the price on the new one at the discounted bulk price. Had I not broken the glass tube we never would have realized it was the wrong one. Too bad it cost me in the long run.

In the beginning it was a bit weird to get the sight-glass to stop leaking (because I didn’t line up and really-tighten all the parts back together), but it is great to know where the water level is at. I think the main reason that the Berkey is so great is because of the ease of seeing the water level.
